A few days ago I was bitten by an ant on my right leg and now that area has turned into a red blotch. I m a type 2 diabetic so I was a little concerned. The area doesn t hurt but is a little bit itchy. Should I be concerned or visit my doctor? The spot is about the size of a quarter. Thank you
From your details,it seems to be a reaction to the ant bite. Any patient with diabetes is likely to have apprehensions in such a condition but there is nothing to worry much as you might be able to manage the situation at home by washing the area frequently, applying antibiotic cream thrice a day, and using some anti allergic. In addition, your sugar levels must be in the normal range otherwise it could delay recovery and add some complication as well.
In all probability, the problem would diminish as soon as you begin care on the suggested lines. All the best!
