my 2 year old grandson is allergic to mosquito bites. when he gets bit by itself get swollen and inflamed, gets a hard knot under it and now I have noticed they are bruising. he does not understand the concept of scratching when it itches yet also he is got some in the middle part of his upper back where he cannot reach that are turning purple. is this something that I need to be concerned about?

hi.

it's an inflammatory reaction of your grandson to mosquito bites. it should subside in 2-3days time. if you could tell him to avoid scratching or manipulating his wounds, it would be best, as infection might ensue. you could also apply mosquito repellant lotion on him after taking his bath or put him on those child-friendly patches mosquito repellant.

hope this helps.

good day!!
