Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bump on my inner thigh that I thought was just a cyst. I had drained it and a white pus like fluid came out. The above link is a picture of it, I was a wrestler in highschool and am a little concerned that it is staff. Should I be concerned?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain the most common cause of a painful bump on inner thigh can be Hair follicle infection or Folliculitis, while it can also be a boil.. Other causes can be a cyst or an abscess.. I would suggest you to clean the area with a mild soap and clean it with an antiseptic solution.. Put gentle pressure over it to drain offpus to relieve infection faster.. Apply a combination of antibiotic and antifungal ointment over it.. In case of no improvement in a week consult a general physician or a general surgeon and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
