Suggest Treatment For A Itchy Red Rash On The Groin Area

I have a very red rash - like on my upper inner thighs near my groin and recently on the under side of the balls. I figured it might be friction burns due to my job and workouts but I m not 100% sure. I regularly get holes in my underwear and jeans around the upper inner thighs/groin area. There is no itch nor bumps on the rash. It does burn some but only when it s fresh. What should I do?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi !! According to your history it seems to be intertrigo which is inflammation of the body folds. Keep this area as dry as possible, always dry this area completely after bathing and then wear your clothes, wear loose cotton clothes , stay in cool airy environment and avoid heavy exercise. You can apply cortisone cream in case there is extensive burning.
