Suggest Treatment For A Hernia

My husband who is 47 years old thought he had a hernia because it pops out and causes burning sensation. He s had a ultrasound and ct scan and they see a fatty tissue (tumor) now blood work shows high creatine ( bun ) levels and low vitamin d only . He s scheduled to go into surgery to have this removed. Should we get a second opinion ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted history about your husband who is 47 years old and feels that he has hernia as it pops out and causes burning sensation.
The ultrasound is showing a fatty tissue. This means it is still a hernia which contains greater omentum as it is mainly composed of fat.
Since Vitamin D is low, get it corrected, he can go for an injection.
Before going for surgery all the work up for fitness particularly for kidney disease should be done as this is not an emergency surgery.
Once is declared fit can go for surgery.
