Suggest Treatment For A Bump On The Forehead After A Fall

my 10 month old baby had a bad fall from the bed ... she's got a greenish bump on the right side of her forehead. She cried a lot at that time... cudnt compress ice on the bump but managed to apply iodex. Will this help? if not, what is the immediate remedy for the bump. She's otherwise playful but does not let anyone touch her forehead. The bump does not seem that hard as of now i.e after 4 hours of the fall.

Hello. Thank you for your question. This is a very common occurrence in many homes. Ice or cool compress applied to the bump immediately after the fall, is the best way to minimize the swelling. After a few hours, however, there is not much else to do. Over the next few days the swelling will slowly resolve on it's own. It won't leave any permanent discoloration or residual swelling. at this point, though, it just needs time. With time, it will resolve.
