Suggest Treatment For A Blood Filled Bump On The Cheek

good morning, my name is natalie and my son has a blood filled bubble on his cheek. about 2 months ago it appeared and was very tiny. I took him to his pediatrician and she told me to leave it alone and that it would go away. Over the next couple months it grew bigger and filled with blood, it even popped twice and bled out a lot but did not go away. He irritated it and now its like hanging off the skin a little bit. What is it and is it dangerous.

Dear Natalie
Your son is having a angiomatous strawberry naevus, which is a blood vessel defect that apperas in first few months and tends to vanish as the infant grows. the oozing has appeared due to manual touch and would stop if you keep it pressed for sometime. Even a Bandaid may be used for the purpose. I hope it is not bleeding at present. Please do take care that it is not irritated again and the child is not exposed to open atmosphere where there may be any birds and these flying creatures might attach the area of the lesion. just apply some antibiotic cream and wait for some days. if the hanging part does not mend then it will have to be removed by dermatosurgeon. There is a greater likelihood that patience will pay. so for now, please wait and prevent it from getting infected or traumatized. All the best.
