Hi,

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex disorder which affects the woman's fertility and causes high insulin levels and high male hormone levels. You have been given all the required medicines to take care of all these three disorders.

Oosure M Tablet contains D-Chiro-Inositol, L-Methylfolate, Mecobalamin, Metformin, and Myo-Inositol as active ingredients. Ovalife Tablet contains Acetyl Cysteine, L-Methyl Folate, Myo Inositol, and Vitamin D3 as active ingredients. These two medicines control the male hormone as well insulin levels. Moreover you have been put on Glucophge which is metformin.

This medicine helps controlling the raised insulin levels. Clomipure is Clomiphene citrate which helps egg release (ovulation) required for conception. This medicine is not advised for more than 6 cycles trial. If it has failed in offering you pregnancy for 8 months, you should change over to hCG/HMG combination for induction of ovulation, with the advice of an infertility consultant.

Please get your tubal patency tested (if not evaluated previously) by Hysterosalpingography and Laparoscopy. If any block is found, it would need surgical reopening. Also husband's semen needs to be evaluated. PCOS is characterised by obesity, and unless the weight is brought under control, conception may be very difficult. Maintain your BMI between 18 and 23.9 by appropriate diet.

High protein, low fats and low carbohydrates can help you achieve this.

I hope this provides you some guidelines. For detailed advice, you may ask me direct question on this forum.

Regards,
Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
