Suggest Treatment For OCD

Sir, I am 38, 5.5 male. I am suffering from OCD and anxiety from last 15 years. I am under treatment for OCD and anxiety since 2008. I am taking Pari-10, Equilibrium and Chromep tablets for OCD. My problems is, from last 10 years, my reflexes have became very slow. Even when I touch a hot thing, it takes more than a second or two for my reflex action. Same about all reflex actions which require immediate response. please help.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a distressing anxiety disorder. The inability to control the touching things and then compulsively touching is symptoms of OCD. You are taking Paroxetine 10, Clomipramine for OCD and these drugs are commonly used drugs for OCD. But as per my opinion doses of Paroxetine should be increased. I usually use paroxetine control release tabs up to 37.5 mg in my patients of OCD. OCD is a anxiety disorder in which high doses of SSRIs are used to see response. Consult your psychiatrist for dose adjustments.

Apart from medicines non-medicinal treatment have equal efficacy. Behaviour therapy, exposure and response prevention, desensitisation are commonly used psychological methods. Combination of psychological treatment and medicines is best for OCD.

Thanks, hope this helps you
