HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your mother, in case of COPD under lying etiology need to be taken under consideration it may be due to some chronic lung disease, most of the time symptoms of this need to be controlled, like dry cough, breathlessness, and some time fatigue else it may not turn into serious condition unless it is being neglected, condition may remains for long time without any bad consequences so no need to worry if she is being taken good care, just watch for the respiratory symptoms, else everything would be okay, (cardiac disease may give same symptoms some time so care need to be taken, regular follow up is must) hope this information helps.
