Suggest Treatment For ADHD

I m having significant problems with ADHD. I recently discovered I have it. I started an 18mg dose of concerta six days ago, and doubled that today per my doctors instructions. I am still struggling, especially in math, whereas I used to have a semi photographic memory, after the birth of my daughter and throughout my pregnancy I experienced a severe decline in function. I am an aspiring doctor myself, have maintained a 4.0 GPA, am a rotary club member, phi kappa beta honor, student ambassador and active in student government. I am 23. My question is will such a drastic increase be ok? Will I ever be able to achieve so well and get back to my old self? I trust my provider, whom is a Dartmouth alumn, but I admit I have hesitation. I also wonder if this is a long term solution.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. According to me, ADHD at this age is quite rare. I think you must be at least 23. Even adult ADD starts showing its symptoms at the age of around 16 or so.

You may continue to take the medicines as per your psychiatrists advise. I suggest you to learn more and more about adult ADD. The more you worry about it, the more it troubles you. You should learn to manage your life, not to manage ADD. Management is equivalent to cure. Do not misunderstand. Please consult a psychologist for detailed instructions.

If you require more of my help in this aspect, please use this URL. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Make sure that you include every minute details possible.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
