Urologist 's  Response
Well, with age BPH is a common problem where one suffers from frequency, nocturia with poor urinary flow and sense of incomplete evacuation of bladder. Both medical management and surgery (TURP) r accepted standard treatment options.
In the case of ur father, with prostate vol of 34 cc and pvr of 15 cc and modertely obstructive symptoms, I suggest medical management as first option. Get urine routine and culture and Uroflowmetry tests done. start on Tamsulosin and Dutasteride combination drug...wait until 3 months to assess response by repeated USG KUB with PVR and Uroflowmetry.
I find this answer helpful
