Suggest Therapy For Stasis Dermatitis & Ulcers On My Right Lower Leg & Ankle

Hi Doctor, For the last 2 months I have been suffering from Stasis Dermatitis & Ulcers on right lower leg & ankle. One Ulcer only is also on the left ankle. In fact earlier Doctors could not diagnose it. Only on Aug.29,2014 a skin doctor diagnosed it as such. First treatment for 5 days was (1) pouring a very dilute & transparent solution of potassium permanganate with a cotton swab for 1 minute(2)Cream Clop GM application three times(3)One tablet CNN 100 at night(4)One tablet ZeminPB after food at morning & night; and(5)one tablet Zempred 4 after food at morning. It proved working. For the next 20 days i.e. up to Sept.22, 2014 the doctor prescribed (1)cream Moisrize in the morning and night (2)Cream Clop E at alternate night (3)one tablet Zemin PB morning & night (4)one tablet Zempred4 in the morning on alternate days. The doctor advised the use of potassium permanganate solution as & when a need is felt. So I am doing this on and off. This treatment is also working. Right leg s Ulcers are 90% healed. The lower half of the right leg s skin has become very tender/delicate(perhaps less thick than normal)shining & brownish. Left leg s skin is normal & healthy but an ulcer on ankle is not healing properly and often irritates/itches. Further I can t stand or sit even for a reasonable duration. At under-side i.e. at the sole of both feet, a type of un-explainable sensation starts and heavyness is felt. Obviously it is impossible to always lie on the bed with legs raised above the heart level 24 hours daily for indefinite period. At a stage when healing is not 100%, the compression wrap can also not be done. So how can I lead a routine life doing daily activities. Please advise. I am a 68 years old retired male person weighing 64 Kgs and was until now leading a normal routine life. In fact I used to feel a burning sensation in my feet for the last 15 years or so, but never gone to a doctor for the problem. I have been advised for the time being not to walk. Further on appearance of ulcers about 2 months ago, i got done a blood test, which inter alia showed cholestrol very high. So I want to reduce it to normal for which too I may please be advised. I also want to do such effective / fruitful physical exercises which do not involve sitting, standing, leg-movements etc.due to the stasis dermatitis and ulcers. It is very necessary for my wellness/fitness. Please help me. Thanks and regards, J.C.Saini

Respected user , hi
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your very long query thoroughly .

* Through all the narrations , it is indicative of non healing ulcer but the
etiology part is not on highlight as narration of any reports or evaluation
done to diagnose the cause of it .
* Unless the cause is rooted , it is not possible to treat it till full recovery
which may be - varicose veins - chronic infection - diabetes - deformities
of immune related system - other ailments as HIV , tuberculosis

* For cholesterol , dietary management to avoid dairy fat , high caloric food
non veg , junk foods , ghee , butter , paneer are better to be avoided

* Exercise guidance can be availed from physiotherapy fellow .

Hope this clears your query .
Welcome for further assistance .
