Suggest The Best Syrup For Cough

Hi, My baby is 8 months old and she has severe cold and cough from past 2 weeks. I have been giving her congestyl and Betnosol drops but no result. What would be the best syrup for her cough? I have been advised to give her Augmentin, Levolin, Averzine and Betnosol drops. Please advise if these doses will be ok to give to such a small baby. PLease suggest the best cough syrup for my baby. Thanks

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Majority of upper respiratory tract infection in children are viral in origin and slef limiting. All that they need is symptomatic treatment.
I would personally not recommend routine use of antibiotic like Augmentin. Betnosol drops is steroid and is to be avoided in children unless for some specific indication.
I would suggest you Syrup Ambrodil (containing ambroxil) for your baby.
Ensure good intake of fluids and food. Keep baby warm.

Best Regards
Dr Deepak
