Suggest Tests To Diagnose Internal Injuries After A Hip Injury

This morning I was taking a shower and my phone was dying, so I opened the curtain and stepped out to put it on charge and play some music. I stepped back in but noticed my music wasn t playing so I went to go back out but right in the corner of the tub, there was some soap and as I stepped with my left foot, I slipped and fell. It honestly scared the crap out of me and I thought I might have actually broken something. I just closed my eyes as it happened and hoped for the best. After I landed, which was on my left hip/left side of my butt, I stayed there for at least a minute. It was a little hard to get up as I also landed on my left shoulder/muscle and it was all I had to lean on to push myself up. Once I was up, I finished my shower and went on with my day. It doesn t hurt to walk and it doesn t throb with pain; it just feels a little sore when I rub it. I m pretty sure it s bruised but I don t see one forming yet. I really don t think it s anything serious and I don t think I broke anything. I just want to know how I should handle this, if there s anything to do. I m 5 1 , about 93-96 lbs, and will be 19 years old soon. I know I m really underweight but I m trying to work on that. I hate going to the doctors, especially when all they tell me is that I need to eat or I ll get sick and just everything I ve heard a million times. I just asked here because I was concerned if anything bad might happen, considering I m not really healthy. Any help I ll take.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is likely soft tissue injury and , as you mentioned, a bruise may occur.

The use of a anti inflammatory pain killer would help. This includes medications such as naproxen, ibuprofen or cataflam.
These are over the counter medications and may help to relieve any discomfort.

A warm compress to the area may also help.

If the pain worsens or you are concerned, then you should visit your doctor for an assessment.

I hope this helps
