Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking 32 ibuprofen tablets a day for the last 4 months. For the last 3 days I have been down with what I thought was flu but now I'm starting to panic it is some lasting damage from the tablets. Should I wait a few more days or try and see a doctor tomorrow? Also I am terrified of hospitals and tests etc.. and really would need to know what tests will be done and how will they be done.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having flu for last 4 months. My response to your question is as below. 1. Flu is usually caused by infections and since the infection is chronic this requires evaluation to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly. 2. The common tests done are blood tests to rule out bacterial viral and parasitic infections. 3. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly. Hope this answers your question. Do write back to me for further questions.
