Suggest Tests To Detect HIV

Hello I am an indian from canada...i just had unprotected sex with a respectable person....i have been hiv negative although i am a little worried now....everytings fine but i just went in for a hiv test again just to be sure i am not infected...the doctor said the symptoms of hiv start showing up in 3 -6 months and i have to be re tested...but in india, generally thrugh an eliza test the results were immediate...my question is...how do i get to know for sure...

Hi, yes HIV infection can be detected after the window period of 3 months or rarely 6 months,first screening test is ELLISA test which very sensitive test, if u wanna confirm then u can go for Western blot test which is highly specific but its costly.Both tests are antibody detection tests with different methods.
