I've been feeling intense nausea for the past five or so days, only vomiting twice during that time. I've also been experiencing sharp pain in my abdomen on both sides and just below my belly button. I have been sexually active but only once... and that was a week ago. Could I be pregnant? I completely skipped my January period so I don't even know when I would supposed to start this month.
Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
1 ) First of all do not panic.
2 ) As you have mentioned that you had only one episode of unprotected sex act and you are not sure of your last date of period- in that case I will suggest you to wait till 14 days after your episode of sex activity. You can get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy. In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.
3 ) I will suggest you to get proper sex counselling done. Use of appropriate contraceptive method will help to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks. Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
