Suggest Suitable Therapy For Bipolar Disorder

Good Day:

I have a daughter who is bi-polar. She got herself hooked on Oxycontin illicitly. She tried to get off it twice on her own. She is now under the wing of a GP who is monitoring her strictly and is detoxing her by weaning her off this drug. She was told it would take about four months. She feels good on the drug even though the amounts she is taking now are far less than she was when she was getting the drugs illegally. I have noticed a huge change in her. She is 29 years old. She has 2 children, 6 and 2. She is already worried about what is going to happen when she comes off this drug because she says in all her years she has never felt this normal. She has been under a psychiatrist for about 8 years now. My question is - is there such a thing as Prophlactic Oxycontin. The reason I am asking is because my daughter tells me that even though she is taking a substantially lower dosage now she still feels like she can cope with life and she is very concerned with what is going to happen in four months time when she is done with the detoxing? If you could help me with this question I would really appreciate it.

Psychologist 's  Response
Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. If she is still worrying about a future event, that is apprehension and obsession. in that case, it is natural that she will be hooked onto that future worry some event and loose her sleep today. Some of the psychotherapy techniques like mindfulness and rational emotive therapy help her to focus on today rather than a future event which may or may not happen. Therefore, consult a psychologist who is well versed in psychotherapy techniques.
