Suggest Stimulants To Quit Smoking

Hi, I am seriously thinking about quitting smoking, but what worries me the most it that I won't be able to go to the toilet. I've tried to stop for two days and I did not go. to the toilet. Is that also on a psychological base? Please advise other healthier stimulants that will help me quit smoking without having problems as described.

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Constipation is common when people quit smoking. In my opinion, you should start a laxative a day or two before you quit. This will take care of at least one of the problems that start after quitting. The laxative can be stopped after a few days. There are medicines like bupropion which can help control the craving for tobacco. Nicotine replacement therapy is also an option.

Best wishes.
