Suggest Side Effects Of AKT-4 Medicine
side effect of AKT - 4 medicine? I am a tuberculous patient and taking tablets from last three months and my legs are swelling too much and there is no pain ......... Is this because of the disease and side effects of this medicine .. Please give me reply

Hi,
AKT-4 contains the following drugs- Ethambutol 800 mg, isoniazid 300 mg, pyrazinamide 1500 mg,rifampicin 450 mg.
By reading your complaints it seems it is not because of AKT, as you are taking these medications from last three months.
You should be investigated for kidney and liver function tests.
Serum albumin should also be done.
Otherwise the main side effects of ethambutol is vision problem, isoniazid are hepatocellular jaundice, peripheral neuropathy, pyrazinamide are jaundice, hyperuricemia, rifampicin are jaundice, flu like syndrome, rashes, decreased platelet count, orange coloured urine.
