I missed my period later discovered that i am pregnant. I've been using herbs for self induced miscarriage and am presently using Dong quai with parlsey, pls i want to know the success rate, as my partner and i are not financially ready to av a baby. Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Dong quai with parsley is not at all an approved drug that can be used for termination of pregnancy.
Taking these capsules will not result in termination of pregnancy.
First of all atleast confirm that you are pregnant, before thinking of termination.
It is not recommended to go for pregnancy termination or abortion on your own.
Grave risks are attached.
Firstly there is a rare condition called ectopic pregnancy ( pregnancy outside the uterus ), and in that scenario, it is life threatening.
So , apart from the Preganews kit, a gynaecologist needs to confirm that the pregnancy is indeed present inside the uterus.
It needs to be correctly dated, as the pills for medical abortion work only within a very narrow time frame.
ALso, the dosage and schedule of these drugs has to be understood in detail.
Generally one tablet of Mifepristone followed by 4 tablets of Misoprostol have to be consumed, however you have to be sure how they have to be taken, which only a gynecologist can advice you after examining your wife.
A follow up scan after 15 days is compulsory to rule out complications like retained tissue inside, infection, need for surgical abortion, failed medical abortion etc.
Also, there are always chances of severe uncontrolled bleeding anytime in the entire procedure.
So please dont act on your own or at the behest of a pharmacist.
Schedule an appointment soon.
Take care.
