Suggest Risk With Rubella With Rashes During Pregnancy

Hello doctors, when I was 8 week pregnant - I had got fever (37-38 C) but no rash (usually is symptoms of Rubella). I did test for Rubella when I was at 23rd week pregnancy. IgG is 22.26 (positive) but IgM is negative. I have not been vaccinated for Rubella before but when I was a child - I got fever with rash ( may be measle or Rubella). Could you please tell me how risk I am ? Now I am at 24 week pregnancy. I don t know how to do now.

Hi, I wanted to tell you that acute infections of rubella in first 16 weeks of pregnancy is dangerous and have great risks. But you contracted the infection in childhood so there is very less risk of your child getting infected. Again you are not sure whether it was rubella or measles. your IgG positive may be due to old infection. So don't worry, he risks are not much.
