Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concern for regaining the natural color of the lips. It is quite common to find dark lips due to multiple causes including genetic and due to other causes related to smoking or drinking hot items.

In your case it appears to be related to genetic cause rather than other of the causes. I suggest you to use a sun protective lip balm daily to reduce the sun damage. A gel containing kojic acid and arbutun can be used to improve the color under dermatological guidance.

All the best.
