Suggest Remedy To Reduce Tummy After Delivery

I am 30 years old. I had a bit of a belly and weighed 65kg before falling pregnant. My son is now 10 months old. At fist after giving birth I was losing weight and the tummy too. Now though I weigh 79 kg and my tummy is bloated huge. I do suffer from IBS but this tummy is embarrassing. I have started to change my eating habits and I have joined a gym to go 2 x a week. What can I do to get my tummy to go down?

Welcome to HealthcareMagic,
Here are the basic science to losing belly fat: One of the ways to get rid of a female’s belly fat is through the maintenance of normal weight standards. Matching calorie needs to calorie intake prevents weight increase, at the same time preventing excess fat developments.

For those with ugly belly fat, the ideal solution is to follow through with a healthy diet focusing on weight loss, simultaneously with fitness exercises like aerobics, which burns excess calories, and a toning workout focusing on the stomach area, which aids in strengthening and tightening abdominal muscles. That said, getting rid of excess belly fat will take some time, your will power and patience.

Cut down on sodium to 2300 mg/day to avoid water retention and bloat. IBS will respond to pre and probiotics. I suggest eating a lowfat yogurt with active probiotic cultures each am.

Drinking green tea (if no history of kidney stones) may help increase your metabolism and the rate at which you burn calories.

You are also probably lactose intolerant meaning you cannot handle much milk without getting gassy. Yet, obtaining adequate calcium is necessary for weight loss and maintenance. You may bypass this problem by using a product called lactaid that can be put into milk to break down lactose, the milk sugar, and it is lactose intolerance that is very common in IBS.

No fried foods, no added sugars. Use healthy fats, extra virgin olive oil, limited coconut fat, canola oil . . .and cut down on saturated fats.

Supplement your diet with omega-3 fatty acids and take a good multivitamin while trying to lose weight. I suggest that you have your thyroid testes and a fasting blood sugar done along with a vitamin D test and CBC to check for anemia if you have an upcoming doctor appointment.

Additional ideas can be found by searching for my Pinterest Board under my name.

Good Luck and Congratulations for making this lifestyle change commitment!
