Suggest Remedy To Ease The Pain After Taking Mifeprex

Hello doctor, my wife has taken one mifeprex in the morning 9 am. In the evening 9 pm she took 2 misoprostal , know she started with bleeding and clots getting out. But she is experiencing a heavy pain. I have given her hot water bag to rest on abdomen. Can you advice anything else how to get relieve of pain.

Mifepristone and Misoprostol is a combination of medication used for medical abortion, which works best in the first 10 to 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Mifepristone is a synthetic steroid. It works by blocking a hormone progesterone, necessary for pregnancy to continue.
Misoprostol causes contractions of the womb and as a consequence, the womb expels the pregnancy. Hence, painful cramps and vaginal blood loss that is more than a normal menstruation is experienced.
She can take Tablet.Ibuprofen 400 mg for relief of pain. However, pain would gradually subside once all the products of conception are expelled and uterus starts shrinking back to normal. Keep her well hydrated by giving good amount of fluids.
Since the termination needs to be done under medical supervision, get an ultrasound scan of pelvis done, to make sure there are no retained products of conception, as that would lead to some of the complications.
