Thank you for the query.
I have a few questions. I would want to know your age, gender, duration of diabetes, the diabetic control status and the medications that you are taking.
Poorly controlled, long term diabetes is associated with microvascular complications (neuropathy, retinopathy, nephropathy) and macrovascular complications (like coronary artery disease).
Your symptoms at present seem to be suggestive of Diabetic neuropathy (numb fingers, difficult to pick up objects). This can be confirmed by physical examination and a test known as Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV). The oral medications like metformin can also cause Vitamin B12 deficiency which can aggravate the situation.
In this scenario I would advise you to do certain investigations (if not done already) - FBS (fasting blood sugar), PPBS (post prandial blood sugar), HbAic (to assess 3 months control of blood sugar) and Vitamin B12 levels (need to be adequately replaced if deficient). Please take adequate care of your foot and note for any ulcerations.
There are a number of medications available for Diabetic neuropathy which can be prescribed by your physician, once you have be adequately assessed. However, you can oral take vitamin B supplements which may cause some relief.
Just out of context since you are a diabetic get an ophthalmological check up done (at least once a year)
Hope this helps you out.
