Suggest Remedy For Vocal Cord Paralysis

I have a left vocal cord paralysis, but my trachea has been very sore and painful. I have been on a course of anti biotics for helicobactor pylori . I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and gastritis. This soreness and pain I have had before diagnosis. I am due to go for a scan to find reason behind vocal cord paralysis. Do I need to be worried.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have vocal cord paralysis. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like viral infections , bacterial infection , exposure to harmful chemicals or allergens , acid reflux , frequent sinus infections , smoking or overusing. When above mention infection left untreated spread down the air pipe and cause infection in larynx. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , throat swab test , viral culture test or endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also prescribe anti viral . For now do warm saline gargles several; times a days and apply warm compresses externally on larynx . Avoid eating cold food and beverages .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
