Suggest Remedy For Swollen Toe

My daughter loves baseball and she stubbed her pinky toe on the door really hard, it didn t hurt much the first day but during her baseball game she hurt it while running and now she can barely put any pressure on it. She thinks it s broken. What can I do to help it heal faster so she can enjoy baseball ? Can she keep playing with her broken pinky toe? Her toe is bruised, purple and swollen.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.

You may need x ray to rule out fracture.
Immobilisation with strapping or cast is important for fracture healing.
For 5 th phalanges fracture after 4-6 weeks healing should be complete and then you can start physiotherapy.

Crutches are given so that you do not put weight and there is early healing.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
