Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Pain In Jaw Due To Infected Wisdom Tooth

Hi,
My name is Rajat Chakraborty.
I came to Nairobi (which is a cold place) for a tour suddenly infection occurred for my WISDOM tooth ( left Maxilla). Resulted too much pain in jaw, neck, back side of head, swelling of cheek, fever etc.
I started the following from last 24 Hours.
Ofloxacin 400MG – 1 tab in empty stomach.
Ornidazole 500 MG- 3 tab after every 8 hours.
Started washing mouth 2 times (morning & Night) with hot saltwater (high density).
Still didn’t get relief completely.
What to do next?

Hi.
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain in case of a deeply infected wisdom tooth there leads to progress of infection below the tips of infected tooth leading to formation of pus below the root tips of the tooth which gets deposited in the soft tissues causing swelling.

Other reason can be in case if the tooth is not infected and the gum flap over the tooth gets inflamed due to infection which occurs due to food debris deposition between the gum flap and wisdom tooth following symptoms will occur.

I would suggest you to consult a dentist and get evaluated for the exact cause of the problem and get treated..

In case of the infected tooth either extraction or root canal treatment is indicated.

In case of impacted wisdom tooth with the inflamed gum flap extraction is indicated and in case you do not want to get the extraction done professional cleaning of the space between gum flap and tooth has to be done followed by irrigation with hydrogen peroxide, betadine and normal saline along with anibiotics and painkillers.

As of now as you are taking antibiotics you need to take painkiller like ibuprofen or tramadol or ketorol DT to relieve pain.

Hope your query is solved..
