Suggest Remedy For Stretch Marks On Thighs And Legs

My daughter had lumbar back surgery almost a year ago. Several months after the surgery she developed dark discoloration under the skin on her upper legs. Then progressed to difficulty in walking. The dr. put her on steroids for possible metal allergy. She has gained forty pounds. In the past two weeks has developed a purple line horizontally across her back at her waist. In addition, she has large stretch marks on her thighs and legs. Please advise.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

your daughter seem to be having simply stretch marks.

These are very common .

She should not be very bothered by them.
With time, they will become less prominent.
Initially these are red in color, later they fade and may persist as white lines.

Some people do suggest using retinoic acid to decrease their appearance.

You can see a dermatologist for the same.

Hope it helps,

Dr Geetika Paul.
