Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

This type of sharp pain may be due to spasm or acute gastritis or crmaps etc but it requires thoroughly clinical examination.

He should undergo routine blood investigations with x- ray abdomen and ultrasound abdomen first to make a diagnosis clear.

Treatment will be based on underlying cause but he can be given symptomatic treatment till that which includes antispasmodics, antacids and prebiotics.

Consult gastroenterologist for further advise.

Regards,
