Suggest Remedy For Severe Cough With Mucus In An Elderly Lady
My 93 year old Mom is on Hospice. DX is slight dementia. She has a terrible cough from mucus/phlegm. Probably sinus / allergies. Lungs are clear. Allopathic docs have tried many things. Currently on MucinexDM. Her cough gets so severe that she vomits. What essential oil or oils would you recommend that I could try. Thank you,
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe cough with mucus which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take antihistamine Levocetrizine along with anribiotic Levofloxacin. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests. Get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests done to check extent of infection and start treatment. You should do warm saline gargles. You should take nasal sprays as well. Use mist himidifiers in room.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
