Suggest Remedy For Severe Constipation And Diarrhea, Nausea And Burps While Having GERD And Gastritis

For the last three months I have had problems with constipation and diarrhea. My doctor said that I had a frozen stomach and put me on medicine for that. He also put me on medicine, a fiber and it caused extreme diarrhea. He tried something else which also caused extreme diarrhea. I have lost weight, and appetite. The food I do eat sets in my stomach like lead weight and my stomach fills so full when I eat so little. Then my stomach get upset, but I never throw up. I lay awake all night because I am too nauseas to sleep. When my stomach gets like this I have the worst smelling burps. I currently have GERD and gastritis and have been diagnosed with colitis and take Welchol, sulfasalazine and generic Prilosec twice a day. Last Tuesday I had a colonoscopy and a scope, the doctor said my colon looked wonderful, however my stomach has something wrong with it and he put me on some medication that will help with the pain of ulcers he said and to continue all of my meds. I have learned that I do not have the infection that lots of people have but I have no other answers and my symptoms continue. When I look at the pictures the doctor took there is some redness and what I would call slight abnormalities in the upper part of my stomach and the lower part of my stomach. Right after the colonoscopy I felt better, I think because I was completely cleaned out but once I started eating again all the symptoms came back, I finally had a bowel movement today, the last one was six days ago. What I would like to know is besides cancer and gastritis, what other diseases of the esophagus and stomach are there. I need to have hope that whatever is wrong with me can be treated and will go away, I can t go on living this way. I am still waiting for test result as several biopsies were taken. I have done a lot of research on the internet and all I can find is infection, gastritis and cancer, that is why I would like to know what else could be wrong. Thank you.

Most likely your son is having Gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is inflammation of intestinal mucosa. Most commonly caused due to viral infection however it can be a bacterial or protozoal infection also. Diarrhoea, bloating, nausea and vomiting are most common symptoms. Its not necessary that each patient has all symptoms.

I would initially recommend you to go for stool routine and microscopy test to rule out the cause of infection.I would suggest you to give him,

Loperamide 2mg sos (as and when required) to stop loose stools.

For cramping and spasmodic pain i would suggest you to give Dicyclomine along with Mephanemic acid and Paracetamol twice daily.Your cramps should settle down with it.

A good quality probiotic like Econorm can be given twice daily for few days.
A short term course of antibiotic and antiprotozoal can be taken after reports of stool test if required.
Keep Metochlorpromide tablet with you in case he start's feeling nausea you can take it.
Give him a plenty of fluid especially those rich in electrolytes like Orange juice,Coconut water.
Hydration should be maintained.

Keep an eye over his blood pressure.In case if systolic B.P falls below 110mm of hg take him to the nearest emergency department for parentral therapy.
