Painful menses can be due to varied reasons but most common is due to fibroids that is the non cancerous lump in the uterus or due to something called as endometriosis.
Consult gynecologist who will be able to examine you and let you know if there are any fibroids or findings suggestive of endomeriosis.
You next need to undergo ultrasound of uterus to see for presence of fibroids.
Laparoscopy that means visualising inside the abdomen with a scope will help in knowing whether endometriosis is present or not.
For pain and heavy bleeding there are tablets which are available like Meftal spaz which can help you.
Take care.
