About a week ago I went to ER ,doctor said I had a possible salivary gland stone. Told me to get some lemon drops. I also had post nasal drip they gave me a script for nasal spray & Mucinex. The lump was getting smaller, tonight while eating some chips, it stated to swell again.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As the lump is getting larger while eating it is a clear indication of obstruction in the salivary gland or its duct due to stone or Sialolith formation..

As during eating the saliva flow increases, there is more pooling of saliva inside the gland making it to swell and enlarge..

If the swelling is occurring again and again, it means the stone is not flushed out and needs removal..

You should consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and an x ray has to be done..

It will help in locating the stone and to assess its size..

If it cannot be flushed out manually by lemon drops and chewing sugar free chewing gums, then it has to be removed under Sialoscopic guidance by a surgical procedure.

Hope this helps..

Regards..
