Hi I m a mother to a 4 year old son for a while now he s had red bumps around his anus area first thought it was poison ivy because he played in it and was itchy then he stopped playing in it it was still there then thought it was simply a heat rash but its been there for a lot longer then it should I m getting worried do you have any idea in what it could be
Your four year old child is having rash near anal area. The rash is itchy. There is possibility of candidal infection with secondary bacterial infection. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. After thorough examination, he might prescribe antifungal like fluconazole 50 mg daily for few days with antibiotic like cephalaxin 125 mg thrice a day for 5 days. And advise to apply antibiotic cream like fusidic acid followed by antifungal cream like clotrimazole. To avoid soap at bath. You can use dettol for bath. After few days treatment, he might be alright. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
