Suggest Remedy For Rash On Forehead

Hello. About three days ago, I woke up with a small patch of a rash on the right side of my forehead. I thought it might be poison ivy, so I treated it as such, even though there was no itch. About a day later, I noticed the lymph gland behind my right ear was swollen. This evolved into swelling in front of my ear, in my cheek. Then today my whole right side of my forehead is swollen. Still there is no itch, and really no pain, except for the discomfort from so much swelling.

Hello,

I can understand your concern for rash on forehead.

It is too early to diagnose and guide you for the best possible cause of the rash on forehead. It could be due to sun sensitivity or due to any infection or duet to contact allergy also.

I suggest you to keep a watch over the area and if it increases then can meet a family physician or preferably a dermatologist for best help.

Till that time you can apply calamine lotion over the affected area and take a antihistamine such as cetrizine for one to two times daily.

Avoid direct sun exposure as can harm the skin.

Take care.
