Dear patient
Prostatomegaly is enlargement of prostate gland. It is situated in retroperitoneal area and urethra passes through it. So when prostate is enlarged it compresses urethra and leads to difficulty in urination. This is common problem in elder patient and is treatable. You should visit expert urologist and ask for opinion. Trans urethral resection of prostate ( TURP ) is safe and effective procedure to treat this condition. All the best.
