Hi I have Labyrinthitis for about a month now. When I sleep flat face up and sometimes turn in my sleep I feel as the spinning got worst, should I try sleeping in an upright position, and what is the best way to flush this out of my system, I need to get back to work next week and I have more of a construction job then a desk job. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the concern. You had complaint of spinning out when you change your sleeping position from upright to any one side. you should suffer from vertigo.
For that you should take rest for some days, avoid noise and such situation which disturbs you, avoid bright lights, avoid alcohol, when such symptoms appears take one comfortable position and avoid change of position. You can also take antibiotics, also for symptomatic relief you should take antihistaminics and prochlorperazine (antiemetics),also you can practice VRT (Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy) under consultation of physiotherapist. So immediately consult your Physician and start treatment accordingly. Hope this might help you. Take care
