Suggest Remedy For Persistent Headache And Sore Throat

I had a sore throat for three days last week then it subsided and then got a headache everyday pressure getting worse and then a cough, slight tickle would make me cough then I d gag or throw up. Stiff neck and popping/ cracking noises in my head. Headache so painful is hard to sleep. Sensitivity to light and sound are somewhat difficult. If Im Lying down and get up to go to bathroom, my head feels like it s gonna explode !!!! Moving hurts so much and I can t get comfortable !!! What is wrong with me ??? Blood work was negative on white count so meningitis was ruled out but don t know what it is!?!?!?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent headache and sore throat, well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons but it seems to me that these symptoms probably occur due to sinusitis and postnasal drip. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day. You should take steam twice a day. You should do tepid sponging if it is severe headache. Take paracetamol for fever and headache. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids.
