General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you with thanks for a consult!

I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns according to the latest medical guidelines.

First of all, in the start of the cold season (sep-oct is best time) go for your flu shots. It will save you throughout the season from flu. It is how we start with prophylaxis and save the patient from a disease before a person gets that in reality.

Then you need a thorough checkup of the nose and throat. Such issues may be due to nasal septal defect, nasal polyps, sinus infection or any other condition of the nose or throat. Your Otorhinolaryngologist will help you in this regard.

If you get acute exacerbation of the flu and allergic asthma that lingers on, you may ask your primary care physician for a prescription for Amoxil, Ibuprofen, Claritin, Montelukast because mostly it is due to the respiratory infection.

Avoid direct exposure to extremes of weather, dust, fomites, animal dander and pollens (of grass, flowers and trees) etc.

Keep a healthy and balanced diet and a regular physical activity.

Ayurveda Specialist Dr. Rajesh Choda's  Response
Pl do not get disheartened. Hope is there. Your doctors must have done best efforts but allopathic medicine has limit in this problem. Moreover allopathic cannot enhance resistance against allergens.

Here a time tested classic Ayurveda regimen can help you. These are naturals, non synthetic, non toxic, non hormonal medicines without side effects. However palatability may not be so good. But need is to benefit the body not the taste buds. Effect may also be little slow, may be 8 to 16 weeks but that's nothing as compared to many years you have suffered in the past.

If you were my patient I would have insisted upon you, in your interest, to opt for Chitrak Haritaki and Amastha like medicines to lick as per directions and instill herbal nasal drops (oil based) to fight cold, allergy, Asthma and create immunity against these even in changing seasons. These are 'Kaphanashak' i.e. destroys vitiated Kapha ailments such as sinusitis, recurring flu etc. On fact, sinus are cleared of mucous and patient starts feeling better day by day, headaches/ eye strains are corrected. Sometimes turmeric is also added to combat inflammation, infection etc.

Certain do's and dont's like using hot water, avoiding sours and cold drinks are directed to be followed.

If you agree pl write by direct question on HCM platform for any query, information etc.

Our group of doctors also offer to send customised combos to our own patients of HCM community at concessional rates.

Hope this info helps you a lot.
