Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from- Post-Rib Fracture Paralytic Ilues,due to ?post-fracture pnuemonia causing ileus / or it could be Neurogenic bowel with ileus from intra-abdominal ? liver ? spleen injury ? intestinal pressure rupture from fractured ribs. Swollen stomach in your case seems to occur after 1 week or so after the fracture ribs.Post-fracture embolism of the intestines through mesenteric artery embolism needs to be kept in mind,while investigating the cause of this Abdominal bloating in your case. CT Abdomen with Standing X-ray Abdomen with Gas under diaphragm needs to be worked out to rule out the intestinal rupture from sudden pressure changes in the abdomen caused from 4 fracture ribs in your chest.
