Suggest Remedy For Painful Swelling In Lymph Node Of Cheek After Tick Bite
Day 1 Australia (Qld) Bush tick bite top of head - removed immediately after bite - lump at bite no itching (I experience about 20-30 tick bites per year with only discomfort). Day 3 slight painful swelliing of lymph gland on right cheek in front of ear. Day 4 slight painful swelling of lymph gland below right ear. Day 5 slight painful swelling of lymph gland on right mid neck. Suspect infection from tick but period of bight was probably only one minute. What sort of infection most likely? Any alternative diagnosis?
Dear Friend, This is hypersensitivity reaction due to tick bite, usually it is subside without any complication but some time it may be presented with few complication like mild itching to generalised swelling with painful lymph node to severe life threatening anaphylaxis and in some cases gradual onset paralysis, in your case it is moderate hypersensitivity reaction which subside within a week, please take Anti histaminics like levocetirizine 10 mg once a day at night, antibiotic Azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 3 days, and anti inflammatory analgesic and serratiopeptidase thrice a day, continue treatment for 7 day, thanks,
