Suggest Remedy For Painful Cyst Between Rectum And Vagina
I have an inflamed area on the left side, but between my anus and vagina. 16 yrs ago it was discovered, and grew to be 6in long and 3in wide completely internally, after the doctor discovered it by a rectal exam. It was lanced but all the medication given to me before the procedure wore off, so it was a very traumatic ordeal! Unfortunately, I ve moved across country and don t have insurance now and the cyst or abcess has returned. I ve been managing it with hot compresses and Tylenol but the relief is temporary. Please advise.

This cyst is most likely an abscess caused by a fistula - connection between the anus and skin. This leads to an infection and abscess formation. It contains pus and gives pain and swelling.
The cyst should be incised and drained. After this procedure you should have a transrectal ultrasound or MRI to determine if there is a fistula. If so, you need surgery to fix it.
