Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My six year old is teething in the rear left hand side of her mouth. It appears she bit the side of her mouth, which is raw and hurts when she chews on that side. Is there anything I can do to soothe her pain in the cheek area, which is very sensitive?
As per your query pain in child while teething is very natural and child hurt her mouth, inside cheek which is a very common occurrence. I would suggest you to apply Dologel on finger and rub against cheek, inside mouth area. Child will get immediate relief from sores, pain.
Give child a baby aspirin or rub it on gums to soothe effects of pain.
For teeth give sterile plastic objects to child for biting but very carefully as child can inhale them as well.
Use clean finger or cold teething ring to rub on child's gums gently.
Try giving child little hard food such as chilled cucumber. apply moisturizer cream to dry the drooling of saliva.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
