Suggest Remedy For Pain Due To Mouth Ulcer

I have a very bad case of mouth ulcers for second time in two months. Just got checked at clinic urgent care and confirmed ulcers and given some mouthwash and also prescribed Prednisone for bad swelling. Entire mouth walls appear irritated. My question is for pain relief....I'm currently at 7 or 8 on scale. Can't eat and even milkshake not comfortable. Doing mouth swishes and taking Ibuprofen. How long will this go on?

Hi..
Welcome to Healthcare Magic..

I have gone through your query and can very well understand your health concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from RECURRENT APTHOUS STOMATITIS leading to recurring ulcers and inflammation in mouth..
-You are on right medication as Prednisone is a steroid and will help in reducing inflammation..
-You should also apply numbing gels like LIGNOCAINE GEL 15 minutes before taking food as it will numb the ulcers and prevent discomfort during eating, but care should be taken to prevent cheek and lip biting as the areas will become numb..
-You can take Ibuprofen but in case of severe pain Tramadol can be taken..
-Use alcohol free mouthwashes to prevent irritation..
-Suck on ice pops and drink plenty of cool water as it helps i reducing inflammation and irritation..
-Avoid spicy and sour foods..
-Take a multivitamin tablet like Zincovit for 15 days..

Hope this information helps..
