Over the last few days it has swollen down to his ankle and to the other side of his calf it is is all a purplish color. We have elevated and but ice on it, I ve tried to get him to go to the dr but he is stubborn. So I was wondering what could be going on. Thanks

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that initially it could have been hematoma and later this might have turned into the cellulitis, at least this could be possibility form the history given, in such condition the leg need to be kept in elevated position, x-ray study is must to rule out the fracture, hope this information helps you, have a nice day.
