So I believe I had a yeast infection because I had burning and itching pain. I rubbed the parts that were itchy to get some relief, I know bad idea. But It cleared up and was feeling fine until after I took a shower. I washed down there with dove cucumber melon scent and now I have what feels like tears or cuts on my labia. It hurts to touch and stings when I pee. My vagina was very dry after my shower. What could this be?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely a yeast infection. But better to rule out by showing your GP or gynecologist.Dryness can be due to using of soaps.Normal soaps and liquid soaps can cause irritation in genitals as those areas are more sensitive. In such case you can use saline or hypoallergic ild soaps like cetaphil. For yeast infection i treat my patients with clotrimazole cream for local application and fluconazole tablets orally weekly once for 1 month.I also recommend them to use intimate wash regularly to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent from getting further infections.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
