Suggest Remedy For Low Blood Pressure Post Knee Replacement Surgery

I recently had knee replacement surgery. In the recovery room, I stopped breathing and my blood pressure dropped really low. Had to be reintubated for a couple of hours. Since then , three months ago, my blood pressure has been low, without blood pressure meds. I m so tired, sleep 20 hours a day, and my diastolic and systolic pressure is very close together. 76/62.

I can understand your concern . I would like to ask few more questions regarding this low blood pressure . Do you have any dizziness , blurring of vision or decreased urine output , any swelling over feet, breathlessness etc or not.this low blood pressure may be because of some cardiac dysfunction or it may be because of simple dehydration or there may be dysfunction of adrenal glands. These glands are situated above kidneys and help in maintaining blood pressure . Sometimes low bp during surgery or blood loss during surgery causes abnormalities in its function . So my opinion at this time is that you must reconfirm that whether you are taking any antihypertensive or not.drink plenty of oral fluid . Eat salt rich diet..as you have mentioned you have excessive fatigue and sleepiness these are sufficient for work up of adrenal function .so you go to your physician discuss about all this ..hope this will help.
